Episodes
In 2012-2013, I hosted an online radio show called ”The Hate Project”. The goal of this show was to explore the sources of bigotry and hate by allowing people who are racist, sexist, homophobic to call in anonymously in order to have an honest discussion about why they hate. I’m revisiting this project to reflect on the interactions I had on the show and how many of the ideas expressed are currently mirrored in mainstream America under Trump.

On this episode...I revisit the final episode of "The Hate Project" which aired on September 9th, 2013. I reflect on "The Hate Project" overall, troll the trolls in the chat, and field phone calls from right-wing radio host "Newsguy" and "Kennewick Man" who I interviewed on Episode 28 and appeared on Episodes 5, 6, and 10. Later "TheChad80", who I interviewed on Episode 33 and appeared on Episode 29, joins the conversation. We talk about literal hate-fucking, specifically the hypocrisy of male white nationalists coupling with non-white women. "Kennewick Man" discusses how some neo-nazi groups are possible fronts for satanists and we talk about how the government seeks to divide and conquer the populace. Also some discussion of events at that time including trans woman CeCe McDonald warding off a hate crime, Craig Cobb trying to create a white ethnostate in North Dakota, and the Klan meeting with the NAACP. At the beginning of the show I discuss how ICE is currently creating training facilities for "urban warfare" against civilians.

On this episode...I catch up with D.K. Wilson, the black sportswriter, tennis pro, musician, anthropology expert that I interviewed in 2013 and revisited here on Episode 32 of this podcast
We have a long robust conversation that covers many topics including (but not limited) to the problems of discussing race with white liberals, why Democrats constantly capitulate to Republicans, the 2020 election and if it's possible to actually have a liberal/progressive U.S. President, and how the government really asserts its power in order to maintain the status quo and quash real solidarity among the populace. We also argue about the status of Latinos in the U.S. and the migrant situation at the southern border, and D.K. also offers a different narrative on black slavery in the Americas.
We revisit the work that D.K.'s father did for the U.S. government, some paranormal activity, and we also revisit the topic of how People of Color suffer from Stockholm syndrome and self-colonization in America.

On this episode...I revisit "The Hate Project" episode 35 which originally aired on August 19th, 2013. A young African-American man going by the name "TheChad80" calls in, and explains his own mission in talking to nationalists - both white and black - similar to the mission of my show. Chad and I talk about a variety of topics. He talks about his views on zionism, the challenges in talking with white nationalists, and he makes the distinction between talking to respectable white nationalists like Jared Taylor versus the average skinhead. Chad also mentions that he wants to become the next Alex Jones (this is in 2013 before Jones became fully evil). I also offer commentary from today including discussion of respectable hate groups and how they are just as dangerous as a skinhead street gang (re:Jared Taylor ->Council of Conservative Citizens -> Dylann Roof).

On this episode...I revisit "The Hate Project" episode 34 which originally aired on August 12th, 2013. I have a great interview with D.K. Wilson, an African-American writer. D.K. discusses how he wrote about racism in sports and found himself marginalized, blacklisted, and even threatened. He also talks about his own life including encountering racism at private school, being a tennis coach and a musician, and his experiences with paranormal activity which may be connected to his father's work in the government.
Something that has stood out to me about this interview since 2013 is the fact that People of Color in this country suffer from Stockholm syndrome in relation to white people and white mainstream society, and it prohibits us from fully realizing our own humanity and realizing true liberation. What do you think?

On this episode...I manage to catch up with Corinna Luray Olsen, the former white nationalist that I interviewed in 2013 and revisited here on Episode 29 of this podcast
Corinna talks about her recent conversion to Islam, her current work in funeral homes doing reconstructive work for trauma cases, and other developments in her life since we last spoke. We also discuss the parallels of what she witnessed in the white nationalist movement and how the ideology has made it's way into mainstream American politics, how immigration has been used as an issue to push white nationalist ideas into the mainstream long before Trump, how hate groups recruit at gun shows and other avenues, how the rise of the incels has overlapped with white nationalism, and Corinna dispels Western myths about Islam. Really great talk.

On this episode...I have a great conversation with antifascist civil rights activist Daryle Lamont Jenkins, founder of One People's Project. Daryle is portrayed in the new film "Skin", currently playing in theaters and available on demand. Daryle's name has also been mentioned by a few nazis and white supremacists that called into "The Hate Project", due to his work in directly confronting these hate groups. We discuss "Skin", including Daryle's involvement in the film and how accurate it is to the real story it's based on. We also talk about whether it's worth engaging nazis/white nationalists in a peaceful manner versus treating them like terrorists, the pipeline of white nationalism to law enforcement and the White House, the attempt to designate "Antifa" as a threat based on false pretenses, the 2020 Election, and much more..

On this episode...I revisit "The Hate Project" episode 33 which originally aired on August 5th, 2013. I have a great interview with Corinna Burt a former white nationalist who was known as "Axis Sally". We have a long and fascinating conversation about her career working in a funeral home, working as a torture porn actor, participating in bodybuilding competitions, and how she became involved in the white nationalist movement and ascended to leadership status. We discuss how she came to each turning point in her life and how she came to leave the white nationalist movement.
On the 2nd half, a racist psycho named "Pastor Visser" calls in and spews some hate in response to Corinna, and a young African-American called "The Chad80" calls in and explains how he tries to debate and dialogue with white nationalists, similar to what I'm doing. Someone called "Chuck of Vancouver" calls in and adds to the chaos.

-Dragon even has insights on U.S. imperialism, yet doubles down on racism and blowing up countries of non-white people. Also discussion of Boston marathon bombing, and Dragon demonstrates a reasonable perspective on allowing communities to get rid of confederate park names and statues.

On this Episode...I have a one-on-one interview with Roman Rimer, who called in to the "Hate Project" a few times during its 2012-2013 run (you can hear him on POC episodes 5,9,14,20). Roman is a trans, queer community activist and performer based in the Bay Area, and he hosts a weekly radio show as well. Roman and I reflect on how our views have changed in the last few years in regards to having peaceful dialogues with hate mongers, be they nazis or TERFS. Roman also discusses the worsening homelessness and wealth disparity problems in the Bay Area, and how they're connected to the presence of big tech companies but are also part of a long colonialist tradition. We also discuss how every major American "liberal" city is essentially a police state designed to protect the wealth of the wealthiest. Other topics include how mainstream liberals often blockade true progress, sex workers and the marginalization of communities as a way of keeping everyone in line, the power of people in affecting societal change, and the value of creating communities and networks as a way of sustaining each other when the government fails us.

At the top of the show, I discuss the horrific Christchurch New Zealand Mosque shooting, and the white supremacist online shitposting nature of it. I revisit "The Hate Project: Episode 26" original air date March 25, 2013, which contains an insane rage-filled conversation with a white nationalist named "Loganhunter" who expresses aggrievement that white people and white countries are under attack from Jewish and non-white forces. At one point he says that most churches are "communistic race-mixing whorehouses" which makes me question whether I should go back to church. Resident Klansman Dragon 1488 calls in, and seemingly sincerely invites me to a rally. I do not take him up on it, but today in 2019, I wonder if I should have. The reason for this is that I watched Deeyah Khan's doc "White Right", and her face-to-face interactions encouraged a couple of neo-nazis to leave their hate groups. However, I also grapple with the fact that it's not my or other people of color's job to reform racists, and it's also possible I would have just been used to give respectability to the klan. Also, Dragon simply continues to espouse his disgusting racist ideology and deflects the conversation when challenged. Also, a prank call and another call from anti-racist Patrick Hwang who again debates Dragon. I also discuss gay comedian Scott Kennedy who died in 2013.

I revisit "The Hate Project: Episode 25" original air date March 18, 2013, where I discuss the Steubenville High School rape case, the danger of raising boys to feel like they can do anything. Roman calls back in, we talk about sexuality and gender. Longer talk with white nationalist Tyrant Trooper who claims "our race is our religion" yet claims to do charity work with other groups of people. A man named "Puffy" calls in and dunks on Tyrant. African-American sports host Najradio calls back in, makes cogent arguments to counter Tyrant's white nationalist talking points. Tyrant gets mad at this point and claims we're turning on him. I revisit "The Hate Project: Episode 24" which aired on March 11, 2013. One of the overall funnier episodes, though it still has some terrible ideologies of hatred espoused. This episode of HP has a lot of prank calls (from the same dude) as well as white nationalists/supremacists lamenting that white culture is under attack from multiculturalism facilitated by the jews, including the resident klansman Dragon 1488, as well as callers "Saxon1" "GovHater" and "Tyrant Trooper". Thankfully, the African-American radio host NajRadio as well as the anti-racist Patrick Hwang call in to counter-balance these views with reality. Some insightful moments, some funny moments within the overall bullshit. I revisit "The Hate Project: Episode 23" which originally aired on March 4th, 2013. This particular THP episode begins with a prank call, then the resident klansman Dragon1488 calls in. The bulk of this episode is a conversation with Patrick (or Paul) Hwang, who is an Anti-racist who trolls white supremacist Harold Covington and other white supremacists. Patrick reveals that he had an encounter Covington's hate group Northwest Front, which spurred him to monitor these hate folks. At the beginning of this episode, I discuss a neo-nazi influencer outside of Ft. I revisit "The Hate Project: Episode 22" which aired on February 25, 2013. Due to my meltdown from "Hate Project Episode 21", I decide to turn off the chat room that allows people to comment during the broadcast, and I only allow phone calls. The resident klansman Dragon1488 and Neo-nazi McBride call in. Unfortunately, this ends up allowing these two to have my platform all to themselves in order to amplify their ideology of hate. African-American sports host NajRadio calls in to offer his great insights in the face of the ignorance. Several prank calls and trolls also add to the chaos which I was trying to avoid. However, I shoehorn in some info on black inventors to fight against Dragon's ignorant assertion that black people have not contributed to our society. Also, some discussion on Jussie Smollet, Ralph Northam and VA Democrat leadership, Liam Neeson
